Who are we: The Northern Westchester Music Teachers Alliance is made up of former music teachers from the NWCA, now teaching at Soundview Prep School. Abayev's concert venues include solo appearances as well as chamber music recitals on the stages of various concert halls in New York City, Boston and Washington D.C. These include Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Seully Hall, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and many others.
He participates in numerous music festivals in the US and overseas - "Mountain Top" Piano and Strings Festival presented by Windham Chamber Music Festival, NY; "Arcadia Festival" in Maine; "Vladimir and Regina Horowitz" International Chamber Music Festival (Kiev, Ukraine); "Orlando Festival"- International Chamber Music Festival (the Netherlands) Maryna Rogozhyna ~ piano. She holds a Doctoral Degree from renowned National Academy of Music of Ukraine where she has been teaching before departure to US in 1998.At the age of 8 she won Bach Competition. When she was 15, Mrs. Rogozhyna received the first prize at the National College Student Competition in Ukraine. In 1991 Maryna won All Union Piano Competition in Samara, Russia. Mrs. Rogozhyna extensively performs solo and chamber music recitals in Ukraine, Russia, Czech Republic, Belgium and The Netherlands. Mrs. Rogozhyna’s concert engagements in the US include recitals at Weill Recital Hall, LeFrak Concert Hall, Donnel Library, Tenri Cultural Institute, Hunter Music Festival and Manhattan Virtuosi Concert Series. Manhattan School of Music, M.A. Columbia University, Post Graduate, Jeunesse Musicale in Montreal, and American Institute of Musical Studies, Graz, Austria. Taught at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and Rockland Country Day School. Debut at Carnegie Recital Hall. Educational Series The Art-Strings Quartet had just celebrated its 15th anniversary. Frequent performers at Carnegie Hall and other prestigious NY stages, they are also devoted to educational and community work. Our Educational Concert Series consist of thematic music programs designed to entertain and educate at the same time. The concerts combine listening to music with interesting lectures. The shows include lots of interaction with the audience. The series consist of three concerts to be performed at one school within a year. Each concert’s duration is 45 min.
